In Oct. 1796, land on the west side of Otter Creek was transferred from Cornwall, Vt., to Middlebury. The parcels covered by these deeds were all part of that land. Most or all of the property conveyed in the deeds from 1796 and 1797 later became part of the Middlebury College campus.
